Body-identical or
Bio-identical hormones?

Isn't it extremely important to know as much as possible about the medicine, you are using? But many women are confused about the so-called "biodientical" "bodyidentical" or "natural" formulations. Although the narrow difference in the names makes all the difference for your health!

The term "body-identical" means,
that these licenced hormones (mainly Estrogen and Progesterone) are identical to those,
that your body produced before menopause.

And the best: you can get these approved medications
with a prescription from your doctor!

Recently, the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) published a new article to explain about "bioidenticals".
You can find the "Menonote"  linked here and on the website www.menopause.org

Following one important citation about so-called bioidentical hormones:

"These compounds do not have government approval because individually mixed recipes are not tested to verify that the right amount of hormone is absorbed to provide predictable hormone levels in blood and tissue.

If you have a uterus, there are no studies showing that the amount of progesterone in these custom-mixed hormones is enough to protect you from developing uterine cancer."

So, if you have doubts about your treatment and the safety of your prescribed hormones, do not hesitate to talk to your doctor with experience in hormone replacement therapy - for your health and safety!
